Has Anyone Ever Tried To Scam You?

Thought it would be interesting to start a topic on this because I am sick of the phone calls that I get trying to scam me. mostly they say my internet will be disconnected if I don't go online to pay, or my Amazon account is overdue and to make a payment. I don't have Amazon Prime so I know it is a Hoax, these callers are from India and when they introduce themselves they call themselves English names such as Adam, Sarah etc...

I put the phone down on them now but at first I was getting angry with them and even played along with them and then I would explode lol.
but I feel sorry for people who live alone and have disabilities or even the elderly.

I was scammed once by someone who cut off windows unless I paid 50$ I didn't know at first it was a scam. something went wrong with windows so I called Microsoft. They said it was a scam and a lot of people had the same problem I did. Microsoft got my money back from the bank and said if my computer was ever threatened to be cut off to just turn off my computer, count to 10 , then turn it back on. It worked.
I hope this helps someone if it happens to them.

I have had those phone calls too, Used to get them about once a week. Just put the phone down on them or even better block the number.
Glad that you got your money back.

We lost money out of our bank account 3 times; one time we didn't get it back. Another tried to get unemployment (pre virus) on my husband's Social Security Number. It was flagged 'cos he's been working at this job for 22 years!
For phone calls, do not pick up! Then they know that phone number is valid. Look into your phone provider & see if you can block calls. I don't know if this is for everywhere, but we have Nomorobo. It blocks robot calls. I convinced my parents to get it too (free) 'cos they get calls constantly.
